The Sound of Ivory
The Sound of Ivory
The music of amazing piano singers/songwriters comes to life in this multi-media tribute starring 24yr old song, dance and piano man, Manny Houston. Backed by an extraordinary 9-piece band, Manny will have you singing, dancing, laughing and crying as you experience the sights and sounds of some of the worlds most popular piano legends, such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Donny Hathaway, Nina Simone, and more! Share an evening with Manny Houston and his 9 piece band at the historic Charleston Music Hall on April 8th.

Manny Houston:
An unstoppable force on stage, the young hype Manny Houston is the music world's latest energizer. Coming out of Charleston, South Carolina, Houston’s performances are highly influenced by Funk Superstars, with a touch of Classic Rock bravado.

The originality of his arrangements, the scratchiness of his crooning, all adds to the edginess of his music and style, that will have you on the edge of your seat (or up and jumping around!).

Performing and making music is not new to Manny by any means. He has been on the stage since the age of seven. He started off leading the choir in his father’s church as a young kid. Then he became interested in theatre and started performing in local musicals in his hometown. During that time, he also was studying jazz and hip-hop dance intensively.

Houston is not only a phenomenal performer, he is also a wonderful musician. Holding a degree in Classical Piano Performance from the College of Charleston. With all of these skills at his ready, it’s not odd to see Houston go from dancing, to singing, to ripping a solo on his synth during his live shows. You immediately know, he is in a lane that many aren’t competing in anymore.

As he works on his music, Manny has said that promoting and inspiring, passion and positivity through his music is his main goal as an artist. He wants to help everyone live to their fullest potential.
