Cinerruption LIVE! Clueless
Cinerruption LIVE: A perilously ridiculous landscape where improv comedy and film collide! This installment of Cinerruption LIVE will feature the 90's classic CLUELESS! We will have 3 of Charleston's funniest comedians on 3 mics, so you will be able to hear their commentary as they point out the sheer comedic awesomeness that makes this movie so good!
Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was -- and falls for him.
Jason is a Greenville, SC native who has lived in Charleston for 17 years as a bartender and graphic designer. He started doing improv comedy at Theatre 99 in 2005 and is a regular performer in their programming. He has done standup for over eight years and has opened for several national acts, performed at TedX, won a few comedy competitions, and has performed in a bunch of festivals, with both stand up and improv, along the way. He finally did his own solo sketch show in 2017, which he really enjoyed but made him very tired. He lives in North Charleston with Gaines, a sweet rescue pit bull.
Camille Lowman is originally from South Carolina and a graduate of College of Charleston. After college, Camille moved to Chicago to study and perform at both the iO Theatre (formerlly Improv Olympic) and Second City. She then moved to New York City to attend Atlantic Conservatory. She is settled back in Charleston and is honored to be a Core Ensemble member at Pure Theatre and a part of Theatre 99. Camille Lowman's recent stage credits include Marie Antoinette, Failure: A Love Story, Constellations, The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, This Random World, and Hand to God. She can also be seen at Theatre 99 and Rip City performing improv and sketch comedy.
Maari Suorsa is 1/2 of the comedy group Nameless Numberhead whose work has been featured on FunnyorDie, TedX, and most recently at SF Sketchfest. She is an ensemble member with The New Colony (Chicago) and a graduate of The Annoyance Theatre program (Chicago). She has starred off-Broadway originating the role of Dale in the original cast of Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche. More info at numberheadcomedy.com.
