The Charleston Music Hall is thrilled to be teaming up with Lindsay Holler and an amazing cast of local musicians to pay tribute to Lilith Fair on Saturday, May 8th.
Lilith Fair was a concert tour and travelling music festival, founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan. It took place during the summers of 1997 to 1999 and consisted solely of female solo artists and female-led bands. In 1996 McLachlan became frustrated with concert promoters and radio stations that refused to feature two female musicians in a row, thus McLachlan founded the Lilith Fair tour, taking Lilith from the Jewish lore that Lilith was the first woman who refused to be subservient to Adam. She had great success and in 1997, Lilith Fair was the top-grossing show of any touring festival.  McLachlan followed this success with two more rounds in 1998 and 1999.

Our homage to this iconic festival will include tributes to Fiona Apple, Sarah McLachlan, Tracy Chapman, the Dixie Chicks, Erykah Badu, Natalie Merchant, Aimee Mann, Joan Osborne, Paula Cole, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow, the Indigo Girls, and more and will be performed by Lindsay Holler, Jordan Igoe, Jenna Desmond, Nora Roy, Beattie Porter
