Asbury Shorts 40th Anniversary Short Film Concert:

Asbury Shorts USA, New York City’s longest running short film exhibition and travel show returns to Charleston, South Carolina on Thursday, August 18, 2022, to present their nationally recognized: ‘40th Anniversary Asbury Short Film Concert’ at The Charleston Music Hall with the first film blasting on to the screen at 7:30pm. This eclectic screening of independently produced short films is recommended for ages 16 and way above. Christian Senger, Founder of “Holy City Sinner,” will once again serve as the show’s guest host.

Asbury Shorts combines classic shorts with new global honorees creating a rare opportunity to see world-class films on a real cinema screen rather than YouTube, computers or smart phones. The August 18th lineup will feature a mix of US festival “Best of Show” winners and international hits with many audience favorites from over the years. Director Jason Reitman (JUNO, Up in the Air, Thank You for Smoking, Young Adult) calls Asbury Shorts: “The best short film show I’ve ever seen.”

Asbury Shorts tour stops have included: Guild Hall in East Hampton, N.Y., The Vero Beach Museum of Art in Florida, Summer Stage in Central Park, The Director’s Guild Theater in Manhattan, The AERO Theatre in Santa Monica, CA, Royal Festival Hall in London, UK, The Osprey Arts Center in Nova Scotia, Canada and the Leminske Theater in Berlin, Germany to name only a few of the prestigious venues where audiences have enjoyed these amazing films.

Christian Senger is the man behind Holy City Sinner, the popular blog in Charleston. For years residents of the city have voted its website and Twitter feed the best in Charleston. In 2022, HCS won Best Local Website and Podcast (for Holy City Sinner Radio) for the first time. Created in August 2011, Holy City Sinner celebrates the many sides of the historic and lively city of Charleston.
