Brave Baby Bio
Charleston, South Carolina’s Brave Baby announce the release of their new album 3x blood.
This will be their first full length LP since 2015’s Electric Friends. Since then the band has promoted a multitude of singles and members have explored solo careers, started families, and toured with other artists. Songwriter/drummer/producer Wolfgang Zimmerman produced albums for Grammy nominated Band of Horses, Susto, She Returns From War, Futurebirds and released his own debut record Space Prints in 2023. Vocalist/Songwriter Keon Masters released a pair of albums, 2019’s Many Thanks and 2022’s No Problem with the help of Grouplove bassist, Dan Gleason, who produced at Big Trouble Studios in Little Five Points, ATL and featured Grouplove drummer, Benjamin Houmala. Guitarist/songwriter Christian Chidester works as a session player and arranger for many SC based artists and is preparing to release a solo album under the moniker, Harvest Temple. Steven Walker (keys) and Jordan Hicks (bass) have both been on the road as members of Charleston contemporaries Susto.
Art direction for 3x blood is being helmed by friend and frequent collaborator Dylan Dawkins, AKA Persona La Ave, a Brooklyn/Charleston based musician, producer, filmmaker, photographer, dj, visual artist, creative who has recently collaborated with acts such as The Black Keys, Jenny Lewis, My Morning Jacket, and Mt. Joy for his outstanding visualizations that have been utilized and sought after by indie artists across the country the last half decade.
3x blood is the culmination of years of pent up energy expressed in the best story telling the band has ever put to tape. Time had to pass, tensions had to settle and a lot of songs had to die – multiple albums worth – for this record to come to be. The writing trio of Masters, Zimmerman, and Chidester is more efficient than ever and are excited for this record and the releases beyond it.
Local Natives Bio
Based in Los Angeles, the group progressed their sound over the course of five full-length albums, Gorilla Manor [2009], Hummingbird [2013], Sunlit Youth [2016] Violet Street [2019] and Time Will Wait For No One [2023]. In the span of one year, the band performed twice on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For the first performance they were accompanied by Sharon Van Etten playing “Lemon feat. Sharon Van Etten” off the Sour Lemon EP. They closed out 2021 with a performance of Roxy Music’s “More Than This” from Music From The Pen Gala 1983, an EP coinciding with their appearance in the Apple Original Series The Shrink Next Door starring Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell. Local Natives have received praise from Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, The Guardian and many more. In between countless sold out shows and festival appearances – including a standout Coachella 2017 set – they’ve graced the stages of Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show With David Letterman, The Late Late Show With James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more.
