COVID-19 Update:

Due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus and under the guidance of federal, state, and local governments, Rare Bird – A Musical by HEART originally scheduled for Sunday, June 7 at the Charleston Music Hall has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 23. All ticket buyers are encouraged to hold on to their original tickets as these will be honored at the new date.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to see all of you with us at the Charleston Music Hall on Sunday, August 23.

Rare Bird is HEART’s latest original musical production that follows John Seeker, an American public radio personality best known as the host and producer of the podcast This Insane World. Though Seeker is successful in his career, he wrestles with feelings of loneliness and not belonging. After his parent’s deaths, Seeker, now 36 years old learns that he was adopted and is given a mysterious package that his biological mother had left for him. Seeker, for the first time in his life, turns the focus on  his own story and sets out in search of his biological mother and his sense of belonging.

HEART Inclusive Arts Community provides visual arts, music, and performing arts mentorships and community engagement for adults with special needs who want to grow and develop as artists. At HEART, we have created a center where artists of all abilities work together to create something that enriches and transforms the community. Since 2014, we have helped adults with special needs create compelling art, lasting relationships, community support, accomplishment, acceptance, a higher self-esteem and a sense of purpose and meaning. At HEART, we transcend our abilities through collaborative art.
