Cosmic Charlie's Dark side of the Dead
The Charleston Music Hall is excited to announce Cosmic Charlie’s Dark Side of the Dead: A Fusion of The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, & The Wizard of Oz on Friday, November 1st at 8pm. The night will be broken up into 2 sets. The first set will be a set of Grateful Dead Hits. The apex of the evening will be the beginning of set 2 when the band will play The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety while we screen the Wizard of Oz behind them! Not to fear, we will make sure they start on the second roar of the lion. The band will then end the set with more Grateful Dead hits as The Wizard of Oz plays behind them. It should be a fantabulous evening indeed! The film will not have sound, but instead act as a backdrop to the fantastical wanderings and sounds of Pink Floyd’s groundbreaking album. The band includes two drummers, 4 keyboards, backup singers & saxophone.
About Cosmic Charlie
Cosmic Charlie was born in the musical Mecca of Athens, Georgia. From its summer 1999 inception, the band swiftly cemented its reputation as a band that puts a unique and personal twist on the Grateful Dead catalogue, a Dead cover band for folks that are ambivalent about Dead cover bands. Rather than mimicking the Dead exactly, Cosmic Charlie chooses to tap into the Dead’s energy and style as a foundation on which to build. The result is healthy balance of creativity and tradition, and both the band and its audience are taken to that familiar edge with the sense that, music is actually being MADE here tonight.
