Charles Carmody – Charleston Market Director

Charles was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He has been the Director of The Charleston Music Hall since 2012. He graduated from The College of Charleston and after a failed attempt to move to Canada after college, he returned to Charleston and loves this city dearly. His mission is to make Charleston the greatest music city in the world.

What was the first concert you attended? NSync – North Charleston Coliseum – 6th grade

Who is your favorite band/musician? Sufjan Stevens

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”? Famous – no specific job title – just Famous

Other than the Music Hall, what is your favorite music venue? 9:30 Club – Washington, DC

What is the farthest you have traveled for a concert (miles or hours)? Sharon Van Etten – Basel, Switzerland

Austin Poisson – Operations Manager

Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC,  Austin made his way to Charleston to attend the College of Charleston. During his time there in 2015 he interned at the Hall and fell in love with the live music scene. When he’s not at the hall you can catch him making playlists, at the beach, or with a controller in hand.

What was the first concert you attended? Toby Mac & Kirk Franklin at the House of Blues

Who is your favorite band/musician? Young the Giant

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”? Tom Cruise really had me sold on the fighter pilot dream

Brian Sarkin – Production Manager

I was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in Carmel, CA. My mother worked for Monterey Peninsula Artist (now Wasserman) for nearly 20 years which allowed me access to world class bands and, most importantly, Bill Graham. I was incredibly lucky to know him and watch him work many times before his passing in 1991. I spent the first 45 years of my life based in California working in various areas of the music business including tours with various bands/artists for 20+ years, I relocated to Charleston in 2021.

What was the first concert you attended?  John COUGAR Mellencamp

Who is your favorite band/musician?  The Band/Levon Helm

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?  Bill Graham

Whitley Lewis – Box Office Manager

Born in Colorado, raised in Summerville, South Carolina, I graduated from College of Charleston in 2018 with a degree in Arts Management. During college I worked in the box office as an intern for the Spoleto Festival USA and the Charleston Music Hall. After graduating, I moved to Seattle, WA and worked as the Patron Operations Manager at the Seattle Children’s Theatre for 2 years. I am the parent of a dog named JP Patches and cat named Luna.

What was the first concert you attended? The Dixie Chicks in Denver, Colorado when I was about 5 or 6

Who is your favorite band/musician? Tigers Jaw

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”? A professional basketball player

What is the farthest you have traveled for a concert (miles or hours)? 3,000 miles for Camp Cope (from Australia) at the Vera Project-Seattle, WA in 2018 before moving out there

McLean Collins – Technical Manager

Born and raised in Charleston, SC. Grew up in my Dad’s studio, writing, recording, and playing music. Moved to Nashville, TN in 2011. Graduated from Belmont in 2013. Moved back to Charleston in 2017 and have been making music loud in the venues ever since.

What was the first concert you attended? Bruce Springsteen 

Who is your favorite band/musician? Between the Buried and Me

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”? Before Angst – Astronaut. During Angst – Artist / Songwriter. After Angst – Financially stable.

Jimmy Varn – Technical Manager

What was the first concert you attended?  Creed in Salt Lake City Utah

Who is your favorite band/musician?  Agency 1994

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?  Air Traffic Controller like my dad.

Cameron Boon – Booking Coordinator

Cameron, a Philadelphia native, grew up in the City of Brotherly Love before heading to the University of South Carolina to study Sport & Entertainment Management with a minor in Music Industry Studies. After graduation, she returned to Philadelphia but recently moved back to the South to chase her dream of working in the music industry. Outside of her professional life, Cameron loves attending concerts, exploring new restaurants, and soaking up the sun at the beach.

What was the first concert you attended? Cheetah Girls in 2006 at Wells Fargo Center.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?  The winner of American Idol

What is the furthest you have traveled for a concert (miles or hours)?  1,800 miles to see Tedeschi Trucks at Red Rocks

Bonny Wolfe-Jones – Marketing Director

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, Bonny relocated to South Carolina when she was 16. She moved to Charleston to attend The College of Charleston. During college she interned and worked as an Artist Runner at the Music Hall, and then began her full time position after graduating in 2015.

What was the first concert you attended? Amy Grant

Who is your favorite band/musician? SZA

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”? Concert Promoter. I didn’t know that’s what it’s called, but I used to gather the neighborhood kids to put on shows in my parents front yard and I would make neighbors pay to come watch.

Other than the Music Hall, what is your favorite music venue? Fox Theatre – Detroit, MI

What is the farthest you have traveled for a concert (miles or hours)? 850 mi to see Jack’s Mannequin when I was 16.

Dy’Mond Franklin – Marketing Manager

Born and raised in Columbia, SC, I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2021 and knew I wanted a career in the music industry. I tried everything from A&R to PR but found marketing to hold my attention the longest.  When I’m not watching a true crime documentary or teaching myself something on YouTube, catch me visiting art museums and learning about aquatic animals (dolphins are my favorite).

Cadyn Scott-Owens – Marketing Manager

I’m originally from Oklahoma City, but I moved to Charleston in 2011 to attend the College of Charleston. I worked in Artist Management marketing albums and tours until ultimately landing this role working in my favorite venues.

What was the first concert you attended? 
James Brown in a field outside of Myrtle Beach when I was in third grade.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?  An astronaut. I was obsessed with Sally Ride.

Other than the Music Hall, what is your favorite music venue?  I still have so many on my list I want to make it to, but right now my favorite is Radio City Music Hall.

What is the furthest you have traveled for a concert (miles or hours)?  1249 miles for Austin City Limits. I saw Solange, so it was worth it.
